Community Involvement
Although Little Paws is a business, we are keen to give back to the community in both charitable donations and volunteer work. 10% of the earnings from our puppy courses are donated to animal charities directly, or used to purchase items on their Wishlists. We alternate the charity of choice but if anyone has a particular charity in mind then please let me know and we will put them on the list.
PAT Dogs
Pets As Therapy is a charitable organisation founded in 1983 providing therapeutic visits to hospitals, hospices, nursing homes and special needs schools. Sebastian and I are proud volunteers for this fantastic charity.
For more information on their amazing work please visit their official website www.petsastherapy.org
Dogs in Schools Scheme
The Little Paws Dogs in Schools Scheme follows on from the KC Safe and Sound Scheme whereby I attend the school with one or two of my dogs and help teach the children how to behave around dogs as well as how to recognise signs that a dog is unhappy. This scheme aims to aid the prevention of dog bites from both strange dogs and family pets. It is completely free of charge and open to all primary schools in the Gloucestershire area.
If you would like more information on our scheme or would like to enrol your school, please contact us to arrange a meeting. Schools are required to complete the Kennel Club Safe and Sound Scheme prior to our visit.
